The 750TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PATRONAGE OF SAINT GEORGE IN ALCOY AWARD is organized by the Alcoy section of the Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles, EA5URL.

Several members of the Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles (URE) section in Alcoy, together with collaborators from other sections, will be on the air from April 6 to 26, 2026, activating station AO750SJ on the occasion of the “750TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PATRONAGE OF SAINT GEORGE IN ALCOY AND THE JUBILEE YEAR”.

750th ANNIVERSARY OF THE PATRONAGE OF SAINT GEORGE (SAN JORGE) IN ALCOY AWARD

The 750th Anniversary of the Patronage of Saint George in Alcoy Award is organized by the Alcoy Section of the Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles (URE), EA5URL.

Members of the Alcoy Section of URE, together with collaborators from other sections, will be on the air from April 6 to April 26, 2026, activating the special event station AO750SJ to commemorate the 750th Anniversary of the Patronage of Saint George in Alcoy and the Jubilee Year.

DURATION

From 00:00 UTC on April 6, 2026, until 23:59 UTC on April 26, 2026.

PARTICIPANTS

All licensed radio amateurs with a valid authorization, as well as Shortwave Listeners (SWL).

OBJECTIVE

The purpose of this Award is to promote on-air activity and internationally publicize the 750th Anniversary of the Patronage of Saint George in Alcoy through contacts with the special station AO750SJ on as many different bands and transmission modes as possible.

Only one QSO per band and mode between each participant and the special station AO750SJ will be considered valid.

Duplicate contacts on the same band and mode will not count toward the Award.

Digital modes such as FT8, FT4, RTTY, PSK31, etc., will be grouped together under MGM (Machine Generated Modes).

AWARDS

Participants who complete at least 8 QSOs with AO750SJ on different bands and/or modes will receive the Bronze Award.

Those who complete at least 12 QSOs on different bands and/or modes will receive the Silver Award.

Those who complete at least 15 QSOs on different bands and/or modes will receive the Gold Award.

The participant who certifies having listened to the highest number of QSOs on different bands and/or modes between participants and station AO750SJ will receive a special SWL Award.

SWL participants must submit their log, including details of each QSO, to: ao750sj@gmail.com Subject line: 750 Anniversary, SWL

Only SWL participants are required to submit logs. The log must include: date, UTC time, band, mode, callsign AO750SJ, and the correspondent station heard.

Separate rankings will be established for stations operating within EA territory and for those operating outside EA. Provisional and final rankings will be published on the official event website.

SPECIAL AWARDS – “TOP RANKING AO750SJ” Top 10 ranked participants in the Overall Ranking (all entities) in each mode (CW, SSB, MGM and Mixed).

Top 5 ranked participants in each DXCC entity (EADX100) in each mode (CW,SSB, MGM and Mixed).

Top 10 ranked Spanish stations (EA, EA6, EA8 and EA9) in each mode (CW, SSB,MGM and Mixed).

Top 5 ranked participants from each continent in each mode (CW, SSB, MGM and Mixed).

In the event of a tie, the participant who first achieved the highest number of QSOs will be declared the winner of that category.

CONFIRMATIONS

All QSO confirmations will be made electronically via LoTW, eQSL.

No paper QSL cards will be issued.

Any irregularity, disrespectful behavior, or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification at the discretion of the Organization.

BANDS AND MODES PLAN

• Bands

160m, 80m, 60m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m, 6m

• Modes

SSB, FM (29 MHz), CW, FT8, FT4, RTTY, PSK31

The log will be updated at least every 24 hours, subject to technical availability.

Participants are advised to repeat contacts if a QSO does not appear in the online log.

However, any participant may request correction of log errors between April 27 and May 15, 2026, if a justified reason exists.

The Organization reserves the right to modify these rules if necessary, duly informing participants through the official event channels.
